Frequently Asked Questions

Side Trips?

Since this is halfway around the world, a lot of folks want to know if they can plan mini-trips before or after this. One popular option is to fly through Hawaii to get there and spend a day in Hawaii. For example, on the last trip, two of our Gypsy trip leaders took a tour of Pearl Harbor.

Tech diving?

You do not need to be a tech diver to go on this trip. Sure, the diving can be ‘deep’ but it’s very controlled and easy to do for those that don’t have extra tech training. Some wrecks even start at 0 or 30 feet. We’ve had divers that decide not to penetrate the wrecks and still have an extraordinary time! So, if you think your lack of high skilled experience is going to keep you from this incredible experience, don’t be worried. This is literally something you can not find in any other place on the planet, and with only 14 open spots, you’ll be one of the few to have seen it with a bunch of Gypsies!
Though, if you are a tech diver, the Odyssey does provide the following, with the Oxygen for mixtures at an additional charge.

- Oxygen for decompression stops of up to 100% available at an additional charge

- Decompression tanks (aluminum 30’s) with hardware

- Fixed decompression bar at 15 feet
